Position: Program Manager
Detail: 1FTE, Exempt
Reports to: Executive Director
Salary: $65,000. – $70,000. DOE
The Asian Pacific Islander Coalition Advocating Together for Health (APICAT) has provided commercial tobacco/vape and marijuana education in the Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) community for 25 years. APICAT supports culturally relevant leadership development and education for adults and youth and is involved with policy change to advance equity.
Opportunity: The Program Manager plays a critical role for APICAT in providing organizational leadership and maintaining relationships with coalition partners to implement culturally relevant strategies to ensure a healthy and a vibrant AANHPI community.
Responsibilities include:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with APICAT coalition partners.
- Develop external relationships with APICAT funders, and responsible for contract management.
- Gather and analyze feedback from the community to inform the coalition’s decisions and strategies.
- Coordinate annual planning retreat, the development of the strategic plan along with work plan and benchmarks.
- Responsible for providing guidance, support and supervision to APICAT staff and volunteers.
- Program management of commercial tobacco/vapor products, marijuana, tailored media and youth leadership activities.
- Represent APICAT at state and local meetings and conferences.
- Represent APICAT’s involvement with AANHPI and other organizations addressing health disparities.
- Identify and support APICAT initiatives and strategies that support community voice in health policy and decision-making.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have an understanding and interest in supporting a diverse AANHPI community-based health coalition, with concrete demonstrated experience that will bring:
- 5-7 years of non-profit experience with a track record of effectively working with communities; including specific examples of having developed community-based strategies.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups from the AANHPI and other diverse communities.
- Solid organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team.
- Program and budget management and staff supervision experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures.
- Adaptable, community-centered and culturally appropriate approach to organizing and community engagement
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, Google Workspace/Suites
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License (including access to an insured vehicle).
- Required to pass a thorough Washington State background check.
Other desired qualifications:
- Experience and background in public health.
- Bachelor’s degree in public health or related field.
- Experience in successfully managing and growing social media presence on platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok.
This is a full-time exempt position. The annual starting salary range is $65,000. – $70,000. Depending on experience, and a benefits package.

Position: Community Engagement Health Educator
Detail: 1FTE, exempt position
Salary: $48,000. – $50,000. Depends on experience

The Asian Pacific Islander Coalition Advocating Together for Health (APICAT) has provided commercial tobacco/vape and marijuana education in the Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) community for 25 years. APICAT supports culturally relevant leadership development and education for adults and youth and is involved with policy change to advance equity.
Opportunity: APICAT seeks an enthusiastic and experienced organizer who wants to work with a community-based coalition to support youth leaders and to provide commercial tobacco/vape, marijuana prevention and other health related educational information and resources for the AANHPI community.
Responsibilities include:
- Recruit, organize and support APICAT’s Youth Advisory Group ages 13-17 years old.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with APICAT coalition, and community partners.
- Plan and coordinate logistics for youth advisory and adult coalition meetings, trainings and workshops.
- Develop and implement annual workplan, complete various reports and other administrative duties as assigned.
- Have a working knowledge and present information on the impact of commercial tobacco/vape, marijuana on the AANHPI community.
- Represent APICAT at various meetings, community events, and health fairs.
- Team approach with tailored media consultant to ensure youth presence with APICAT’s Together Our Voices marijuana education, commercial tobacco/vape prevention efforts
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of demonstrated experience coordinating and implementing community-based programs or projects for youth and/or adults.
- Demonstrated understanding and ability to work effectively with the AANHPI community.
- Self-starter who learns new concepts quickly and takes a proactive approach to their work, with proven ability to work independently and as a team to accomplish tasks
- Solid organizational skills, including time-management, experience coordinating multiple activities and meeting deadlines.
- Strong community and stakeholder-facing communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, Google Workspace/Suites
- Working knowledge of social/media platforms i.e.: Facebook, YouTube, Instagram.
- Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License (including access to insured vehicle).
- The selected candidate will be required to pass a thorough background investigation.
